Ethical Breeders:

The National Ethical Breeders Association or NEBA was formed to unite and educate breeders. As the breeding and sale of household pets becomes increasingly lucrative the likelihood of inhumane treatment at the expense of millions of animals around the world becomes more and more prevalent.

It is our goal to educate breeders and to raise the level of consciousness with regard to the humane breeding of animals. We feel that humane breeders should be rewarded for their efforts and so called "puppy mills" should be driven out of business either by legislation or consumer choice.

Educating Breeders:

By promulgating ethical breeding standards among breeders NEBA hopes not only to educate breeders but prejudice those breeders who refuse to comply with modern breeding standards.

BreedRITE Certification:

The BreedRite certification is a means in which to disseminate ethical breeding standards and reward those breeders who agree under penalty of perjury to comply with ethical breeding standards as set out by NEBA.
